Just purchased an amazing vintage Selmer alto saxophone from Midtown. The horn is as good or better than advertised and the entire process was easy and reassuring. Jeremy is an excellent communicator and his breadth of knowledge about saxophones is fantastic. Plus, he was eager to answer all of my myriad of questions. In short, it was a pleasure doing this transaction with Jeremy and I would not hesitate to use Midtown again for any type of instrument purchase.

I recently reached out to Jeremy at Midtown Music in regards to my search for a backup tenor sax. He took the time to compile a selection of fantastic options from new to vintage for me to try. After spending the time to try these out I settled on a really fat sounding vintage Conn 10M. The horn had recently been overhauled and the set up was impeccable. I couldn't be happier with my decision and the service I received! My Conn is now my number one tenor- it really holds it's own on the bandstand! I definitely will be returning to Midtown Music for my future saxophone needs.
Just had another spectacular Guitar session with Jeremey at Midtown Music. As a third year college level musician, I have acquired quite a bit of music theory, only problem- I felt like I was in box during my practice sessions. Jeremy has really shed some light on practical applications of music theory, and ways to practice- that has allowed me to tap into the creative process of writing music. I highly recommend Jeremey to any intermediate or advanced guitarist ,his approach and presentation of new concepts are applicable to all genres of music.
Cool shop. Great atmosphere, unique instruments, the guy who owns and runs the place is really nice and helpful. You can walk in with any level of musical knowledge and get the assistance you need with no pressure. Can't say enough good things.
Very poor service. Abysmal hours of service. There is nothing special or impressive about the business or it's employees. The owner seems to know nothing about music or instruments. The employees run the show with little to no guidance from the ludicrously unqualified owner who would rather stand outside yelling at people who parked on the street than go inside and run his business like a professional. How this business has stayed up and running for as long as it has with no sense of direction or any discernable skills is astounding. I wouldn't recommend this business to my worst enemy. Do yourself a favor and hire a private tutor for music lessons and buy your instruments at a pawn shop, you would get much better service and spend significantly less money. I wouldn't be surprised if this business went under by Christmas seeing as it's only open 12 hours per week and the owner can't even be bothered to stay inside during those slim as they are hours but would rather waste time harassing locals. I have never come across such a poor business in all of my years as a traveling musician.
Owner was knowledgeable and very personable. Was happy to let me try anything and assisting me with any questions I may have. Was free to try anything in the shop which was a nice change from some of the hoitey toitey shops. Prices were incredibly low. Great used options as well as new.
Great place! My boyfriend got the coolest little handmade mini-harmonica necklace from there that I'm wearing right now.
Pretty cool place. The guy running this place has some unique instruments you won't find in a typical music store (sitars, U Bass, and more).
