This is the most amazing children's store. They are so knowledgeable about infants and children's items and helped us choose the best carseats and strollers as our children grew. They also have the BEST furniture! It is cheaper than Pottery Barn and much better quality. We furnished all of our children's rooms from Merry Go Round with their convertible bed options. Our son is now in his fully converted double bed (it used to be his crib!). And, their chairs are the most comfortable for nursing, nighttime feeds and now toddler or kid book readings. Plus, they fit my 6'4'' husband!! Thank you Merry Go Round!!

Sad to see the poor reviews because I love this place. We are first time parents expecting twins and have so many questions. I've been in the store four times now and the staff have been incredibly helpful. They were also very transparent about long lead times for some items, but we are very patient because we know quality built furniture takes time. I think it's important to remember that this is a "local business" and frankly there aren't many left. I'd absolutely say give them a chance. And yes, you will pay more, but you're paying for quality. If you're not interested in high-quality items, your money will be best spent elsewhere. I give my highest review and support to this business!
Wow, I'm really surprised to read some of the negative reviews. We bought a bedroom set from them three years ago, we just bought some bedroom furniture from them again last week, and we've visited the store a couple of times in between those purchases. Each time, the customer service was great; very friendly, prompt, and competent. The store is cute, and in my view, they arguably have the best selection of quality, reasonably-priced children's furniture in the greater Seattle area. It's unfortunate that some people apparently had a negative experience there, but I'd definitely recommend that you check it out for yourself.
I have been shopping for friends and family at Merry Go Round since they were located on NE 8th ST, about 8 years. Before that, my mother and grandmother shopped there for all their baby needs. I love that this is a family-owned and local business that I can support where I receive the best information on products that are tailored to my needs. I have never had an issue with the sales staff, they are nothing short of wonderful and helpful. I highly recommend this store to anyone anticipating a baby.
Just received poor hospitality from the store owner on the phone when I called to ask about a crib delivery. We ordered the crib back in May and it won't be delivered until mid-September...um, ridiculous! This is 3 weeks later than they told us it would be, and they offered no apology or consolation. If this is what the owner is like, I won't support this business anymore!
The biggest issue with the purchase was that my crib and dresser shipment was late, and my shipment was supposed to arrive in approx. 12 weeks. It is now expected to arrive 5 and a 1/2 weeks late and no one had bothered to contact me and let me know what was going on. I continually had to contact the store to get status. The other issue is that the store is selling higher end furniture, and I'm surprised that they would even work with vendors that can't deliver on shipment dates. The salesperson acted as if it was the vendor's fault, but guess what, you choose the vendors you work with! These are purchases for a major life event such as having a baby, and it's a rather time sensitive purchase. Now I'm worried that it won't arrive in time before the baby is born!
I would give a 0 star if I could. Ordered a mattress. Was told it'd be in within 3 weeks. 4 weeks came by, nothing. Called the store, and repeatedly told that they'd track it down, they are contacting the vendor, they are looking for the tracking number etc. No call backs. So we had to call then again. Nothing useful in terms of an update. Now it is 5 weeks since ordering. Remember too, they've taken the money already. Called them again, while their responses seem genuine (ie not rude) but just felt like I'm getting the typical round about way of not answering the issue directly, I was told they've got the tracking number and would arrive by early next week. Early next week came and no call. So I called them. They said they can't find the order under our name...WTF?! Yes, like everyone else, we thought going local to support a local family business was the way to go. But this is unacceptable. I'd love to see them turn around since they've been a family business for over 50 years and with Amazon taking over, it is great to have a store front to look round. If it is their vendor problem, then they should find other vendors or demand higher quality of service. Disappointed but still hopeful!
