We have a double sided fireplace in our house. To say the least it was not efficient and smoked a lot! We contacted Mark at Az Backyard Custom for an estimate on installing gas logs. We were so impressed with his knowledge and professionalism that we decided to go ahead with the project. It was done quickly and efficiently. We absolutely love the results! Last year, I decided that we needed a fire pit. I shopped. And shopped. Couldn't find exactly what I wanted - and the process were crazy! I spoke with a contractor friend and he referred me to Mark at AZ Backyard Custom. I went to Mark's place. found him to be a super nice guy. He is very creative, super talented and thinks outside the box. That's a great combination in this business! I went from shopping pre-fab fire pits to customizing a fire table to fit my exact specifications! I worked with Mark on the size of the table, the exterior finishes, gas line location and an assortment of decorative extras. He even drove to Sedona to install it! I have attached photos for you. It is easy to clean and maintain. My wife and I have received tons of accolades about the table. We have referred Mark out often. So much so that now, I need a prefab barbeque island. I shopped. And I shopped. And once again, ended up with Mark for a custom designed and built barbeque island - for far less than the pre-fab islands I was looking at. It has been designed to my exact specifications - with a ton of input from Mark. It is going to be a showpiece! In short - if you are in the market for a custom built backyard centerpiece item for a price that is generally equal to or less than the prefab items - contact Mark. You will be glad you did.

I rarely leave reviews but ...... these guys deserve it. We purchased a home in Fountain Hills with 3 "gas features" , a decorative poolside fire feature, a built in BBQ and a gas interior fireplace. There were issues with all of these and I needed someone with the skills and experience to check them all out and make sure they were in working order and safe. I came upon Arizona Backyard Custom totally by accident. Mark responded promptly to my inquiry, set an appointment , showed up on time inspected and tested the exterior fire feature and the interior fireplace, he inspected the BBQ and gave me solid advice based on expected repair costs and safety issues. It took less than 1 hr and the service call fee was more than fair. Mark is also a really nice guy with a sense of humor. In short, this was the perfect company to call and I can't recommend them more highly. Thanks Mark

Lucky to have crossed paths with Mark...our Patio table turned out amazing! We replaced a broken granite top and updated the center with glass. We couldn’t be happier. Mark helped the process run smoothly.
