Just as the sign says. Old fashioned BBQ. The beans are a meal on their own. I wasn't blown away by the potato salad but the beans and brisket will change your life.

This small little takeout place run by a family is an awesome place for BB, especially briskets. I didn't realize it would so tasty. We ordered for sliced beef sandwich with potato salad and BBQ beans. To our surprise it was better than many other fancy restaurants. And the price was pretty reasonable too. I just wish they used hamburger buns for the sandwich instead of sandwich bread. But it was still great and mouthwatering finger licking.
I went at 11:15. I ordered 1 meat plate, chopped beef with sauce on side. I asked if had any ribs, which are SO good. She said 20 mins. So I said maybe next time then. Well, I waited and waited and waited..... I got my food at 1245! Still NO ribs though! Food is good but not worth standing in the cold 1 1/2 hour for chopped beef plate swimming in sauce I didn't want.
Best BBQ in the entire DFW area in my opinion. Their hours are 10am-til the meat is gone, and the lines form quick. No parking to speak of & it looks like it may fall down in the next big storm, but it cannot be beat. While their sauce isn't my favorite, it's got a not-too-spicy tang to it that is unique and delicious. All the sides are good, but I prefer to just buy the meat by the pound, whatever's left when I get there. If you just want lunch, the chopped beef sandwich or pulled pork are to die for. Wear a shirt you don't care about, ask for lots of napkins &/or bring a bib. It will get messy. It'll come out the tiny window in a grease-stained paper bag, so have a plastic shopping bag handy if you're not eating it in your car immediately. Lord, please bless this place, and all who work here, so they may be able to keep giving us the best smoked meats & yummy potato salad for the rest of my life anyway. Best kept secret in Garland. If anyone tries to gentrify this place, it will be ruined, so please tip generously & pray the owners never change a thing!
We got here a few minutes before it opened and there was already a line! Luckily it wasn’t too long of a wait. The people in line were fun and everyone seemed to be excited to eat. We need up getting 3 sandwiches, two roll ups and two drinks. It was under 25 which was very reasonable. The Pulled Pork sandwich was amazing and loaded with meat!! The other beef sandwiches were also as good! Their sauce is a little bit on the runny side but I enjoyed the flavor. In short it’s a good place for BBQ but you do have to get there in time or you might just be left out.
