Before enrolling for appliances service plan agent told me that as they have local technicians in Maryland area their response is quite quick. I enrolled for appliances service plan and paid for yearly membership. As now I have some issue with my gas dryer I called BGE home to schedule a service request; I called on 02/11/2021 and agent told me earliest available appointment is 03/06/2021. It is insane that it will take almost a month just to get first appointment and thereafter I don’t know how it will take to fix the my gas dryer. What they promised before enrollment ‘quick service’ is just a trap to get new customers and once you are enrolled for their service they will not care for you. I argued with agent and cut my call, so she called me again and said that she talked with her service team and now earliest available appointment is 02/24/2021, still 2 weeks from my request. As I have paid for service for a year, I will continue for this year. But after that noway I will continue with this kind of service.

A few weeks back I had a water heater installed. Installer damaged pipes and drain pan. The pan that was installed was too small and damaged during installation. I called due to both issues, they fixed the leaking pipe within 2 days, telling me someone would call me to replace damaged drain pain. Needless to say, no one called. County inspector came and failed the inspection due to damaged drain pan. I called BGE Home 4x in week, each time being told someone would call me back. No one has. Terrible Terrible service. Wish I never went with them.
My Dad (RIP) used this company for many years to service and keep our HVAC running smoothly. Now I continue to use them. Not only for HVAC but plumbing as well. In 2020 they have replaced my sewer line (get the water & sewer line insurance because it's most likely NOT covered in your home owners insurance) & water heater. For the sewer line replacement they used a technique that didn't involve digging a trench in my yard. Two holes dug and pulled the new pipe through the existing path. No more flooding in my basement floor drain. My home was built in the 60's so there's old things that are difficult to match up with new equipment. My previous water heater was installed back in 1995. 1995! It finally started leaking in 2020. BGE Home to the rescue. It's wasn't just a simple replacement as the venting ducts for my gas water heater has to be updated to code. I'm so glad I decided not to take on that project myself. The technician has some difficulty but got it done correctly. All the extras that where needed for the install came at no extra charge since I have a plumbing contact. Service has always been speedy. I'll say they aren't the cheapest in town but I'm willing to pay for great quality.
Got new units installed by BGE HOME. After a few visits to fix the blowers. It works fine. The heating system does not blow hot air like the old unit. The Technician wasn't able to adjust it. This causes the system to work more and cost me more money. I wish that I fixed the heat exchanger instead . BGE Home may have sold me a newer unit. But not all new things don't make it better. I have to readjust my way of living.
I was getting System malfunction alert on thermostat. I Scheduled the service appointment BGE sent a technician promptly who identified the problem, Ordered the part needed and fixed the unit. All done in 3 days. Heating was still working during this time. I’ve been using BGE for over a decade. Scheduling service is simple, one call does it all, technicians are trained, knowledgeable, and professional. I don’t remember one instance when I was not satisfied or had to call back with the same problem.
