Anthony's is THE place that my relatives ask to go to when they're in town. The seafood is fresh, the atmosphere is fun, and it's a low-pressure way to get some good food. It was also the first place I got food from after moving to Rhode Island, so it's got a special place in my heart! The stand-out offerings at Anthony's are the fried seafood and the lobster. The lobster is just plain, well-done lobster at a reasonable place. No fuss -- just the way I like it! And the fried seafood is sinful without being overly greasy. Some favorites: Calamari, cod fish and chips, fisherman's platter, grilled fish on a salad (I like the salmon), and the lobster dinner.

Great local seafood market. Stop by here for fresh lobster and awesome togo food. They also have some good hot sauces and other items for sale. Cod and chips is amazing. Lobster roll is good. If I may say one thing guys.....try a better quality roll , like a kings Hawaiian. Toast it. Add mayo to the lobster roll and some melted warm butter.
I recently discovered this place and have ordered from them seven or more times so far. The food is very good. But what pisses me off is that one of the employees, the boy who is on the chunky side tends to consistently get the order wrong forgetting to put everything I ordered into the bag. This has happened three out of the seven times already so now I need to shamelessly look in the bag while holding up the line just to make sure I have gotten everything if I suspect this boy put the order together. Everyone messes up, yeah it's okay but one day he messed up the order again forgetting yet another item (Stuffed Quahogs), so I call. He picks up and apologizes telling me that he forgot it, asked for my last name and informed me that he would immediately put it back on my card. So I thanked him, and hung up. Well long story short he never did refund the money. 5 is nothing to me but what's truly infuriating is that you have people like this who don't have the decency to own up to their mistakes or forget to amend things. I don't plan on ordering from them until I know he's gone. If you do go there, try and get service from one of the two girls they are much better.
The wholebellies are spectacular. My friend loved the creamy Portuguese chowder and her clam cakes. Loved it!
We love going to Anthony's whenever we're in Newport, RI. Sad that at this time of year, just a take out. Chowder is creamy and perfect. Clams strips are tasty and such a generous amount they give per order.
