I’m surprised by the negative posts regarding Jackie’s quality of care. If we’re doing real talk, I sense she made a doula mad and some of these negative posts smell like a coup. As with any reviews, do your due diligence and form your own opinion. Pay more attention to folks who birthed with her, after all, are you a family looking for a midwife, or are you a doula looking for affirmation. You better bet a mother with a bad experience would be here reviewing for herself if she had bad things to say. Jackie was a God send for our family. She brought my little boy into the world, and I will go to her again if we are blessed with a second. She loves babies y’all. She loves being a mother. I found her very compassionate, attentive, and professional. Deliveries last a long time. Birthing naturally isn’t easy. And, if you’re choosing the midwife route, understand you’re birthing your baby yourself, and your midwife is there to help that happen safely. My doula and I chatted about the experience after my son was born, and she said Jackie was great and also gave her the space to focus on me. Example that speaks to Jackie’s character. One day during my pregnancy, I swore my baby didn’t move very much. I was concerned and paranoid. I called Jackie and she was in Beaumont, on her way to Costco. She told us to meet her in the parking lot and she’d take a listen. We did just that, and Jackie was in the backseat with the ultrasound wand and goop letting me listen to my baby’s heartbeat. Having a baby is a big deal. Invest your efforts into finding the right match for you and your family. You’ll get so many opinions on who is awesome and who isn’t. All I can say is ask questions about the experience, ask people you trust, and use that information to form your own opinion. Jackies was a nurse in a hospital. She worked there many years, and she left that setting to empower women to birth their babies under their terms. And that is what she does.

First, I am shocked at the negative reviews. The person they are describing is nothing like Jackie. It makes me think they must have the wrong person. She is soft spoken, kind, and caring. Last weekend Jackie helped me delivery my little girl. She and her whole team were incredibly professional, attentive, and caring. I labored for almost 30 hours, with over 2 hours of pushing. They constantly monitored both me and the baby. If anything was even slightly off they addressed it right away and reevaluated. Our health and safety was their top concern. I originally chose Jackie because my family has had many babies with her. My mom had her two youngest with Jackie. She also delivered children for my oldest brother (2), my oldest sister (6), my other brother (4), and my other sister (1). That means she has delivered 15 members of my family. That's why I chose her the first time. I would choose her again because of how she helped me deliver my daughter. We were at the birthing center for a long time. We were never made to feel anything but encouragment, patience, and understanding. She and her staff coached me through each push. She and Diana are excellent midwives and I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. Jackie readily tells you which situations would not be suitable for a home or birthing center birth. She is clear about expectations and when things would be unsafe. She is very professional and everything they did was very clean and sanitary. Jackie, thank you for helping me get my baby girl here safely!

I had the privilege to work as a nurse for Jackie, and she is one of the most caring, loving, evidence based practicing midwives I’ve known. I respect her immensely and was so impressed with her as my boss that when my fourth baby was due I became both her employee and client. I always felt safe, respected and cared for. My birth experience with Jackie was night and day compared to that of my experiences in the hospital. I wish I had known Jackie with all of my pregnancies. I’m sad to see that some people felt that they had a bad experience. As both a mom who birthed a baby with Jackie as my midwife and having worked for her I can confidently say that I have ALWAYS felt safe, she’s never done anything to put a mom or baby in danger and I would birth with her again and work for her in a heartbeat!

We hired Jackie for all three of our births-one in Beaumont and two in Houston. She is an expert at what she does, kind, thoughtful. I would choose her time and time again and recommend her to anyone. So so thankful she was our midwife.

Jackie is an amazing, caring midwife and highly educated. She delivered our 3rd child 6 years ago and is currently our midwife again for our 4th child. Her staff is amazing and every helpful. Her experience and education are very important when seeking a midwife. As far as a previous review of her board of nursing complaint, there is absolutely no complaint I have located on the board of nursing website for Texas.
