Second time visiting after new ownership. Fried okra is a great option, however, it was very bland. Food was better but overall relatively bland as well. The red chili was so spicy it was borderline unenjoyable (this coming from a native New Mexican). I like spicy chili, but this was over the top. Substitutions aren't allowed, but aren't stated on the menu, there were bugs all over our booth, no Filipino food, despite being offered on the menu, and the quality of service was lacking.

They know how to make chile sauce and salsa well here. Downright incredible and so so flavorful. Their fry bread is top notch too. Absolutely amazing fry bread taco. Highly recommend. Quick, friendly service too.

The service at the Kiva Cafe was excellent and timely. The food is authentic New Mexican. Both the red and green chili as well as the salsa are hot so if you like it mild, ask for it on the side. The sopapillas are delicious served with good honey and the guacamole is fresh and has jalapenos. I had blue corn enchiladas and highly recommend them. The portions are large and made three meals for me. I highly recommend the Kiva Cafe. Oh, and for travelers, don't expect Mexican food; expect NEW Mexican food.

This restaurant is attached to a travel center/gas station. Servers were very nice. Green chile stew was an awesome cup of pork, tomatoes, potatoes and green chiles. It also serves as a perfect example of why New Mexico is the best place in the United States for spicy food lovers. In any other state, this stew would have been accompanied by a spice warning but no need in New Mexico. The Indian taco was a plate sized fry bread loaded with spice beef and taco toppings.

Best breakfast burrito I've had anywhere. Polite, friendly, fast. More like a restaurant than a truck stop diner. Nice place to sit, eat a decent meal, & get a break from driving. Definitely stopping when we make this trip again.
