I'm so proud to live in a city that has a homeless shelter for families. America has a homeless problem. I know I go out and hang with the homeless and try to understand how better to assist them and more important learn how to prevent people from needing homeless shelters. Why doesn't the local media cover homelessness, it probably doesn't generate enough online interest.

Excellent food and kitchen staff
The food here's expired most of the time, especially the one in the freezer. Some window shades are also broken and the facility is tiny. Despite all of this, the staff is oftentimes very friendly and try to make your stay a little better which is appreciated on my part.
I loved it when I was there. Everybody there was nice except for one bully but he was kicked out right away.
