Art itself is good. Found this place hard to be called an art gallery. The art is displayed salon-style, a nice way to say disorganized and overwhelming to the eye. The manager is a very mean person to say the least, ruining prospects. David himself is a very nice guy but understands art as a collector. I would say there is definitely a narcissistic vibe present overall.

A treasure to our art community! Visitors are fortunate to freely explore this beautiful gallery and learn about the artists through lectures, some even serving brunch! There’s always a warm welcome and plenty of information available. It’s a perfect lower-east-side attraction if you’re strolling Brady Street and heading along the lakefront to the Art Museum...a must-stop along the way!!
My husband and I have been regularly visiting the David Barnett Gallery for the last 5 years. David has a wealth of knowledge about artists local and worldwide that is 2nd to none to other gallery owners we have met with over the years. As well, his staff has been extremely professional and helpful in our past experiences of purchasing art pieces from the gallery. Lastly, the gallery's framer creates museum quality frames that have been way beyond our expectations.
This unique gem is a wonderful place to visit!
