04/18/21: 3.0 out of 5 - Stopped by Ovation today to try out the Brunch menu. Not sure what to really say about Ovation... This would be the first time for myself and my wife to try Ovation. Allow me to say that Ovation is definitely a local eatery. It looks great inside with a particularly cool but subtle touch that looks pretty inviting. We both sat outside though, and the other patrons outside sort of behaved oddly around (towards) us...as if we didn't belong. However, that is beyond the restaurant's control. We made our order and the food came out relatively quick. But, our server changed, which was probably a good thing because this server was more attentive and helpful. So, the food was good. There's room for improvement if the chef chooses to do so. However, be aware that there is a French and Japanese/Taiwanese fusion going on with Ovation's menu items. Not sure how well it translate to the palate for others, but I will say that the food we had was good. At the end of the meal, the real question isn't "was it good?", but moreso, "would you go back?". My answer: To be honest, I'm not sure. I am hopeful for the success of local eateries, and I do hope you give this place a try when in the area or if you are in the mood to try something different but familiar at the same time. As I always say, try it once and decide for yourself. Enjoy!

Food and location was perfect! They take all the right sanitary precautions too. Romano is by far the best most upbeat person! He really is such a joy. Definitely will be back.

Great little place. Loved the energy of the staff. Food was awesome. Top notch burger with local organic beef and turkey sandwiches for lunch. The side salad is generous and the fries were perfect. I visited yesterday when the three owners were all there. Seemed like awesome people and I want to come back to support them. They were putting out super fun vibes and a lot of pride and love for their work. Really pleasant experience. Their outside seating is under a big awning to protect from the drizzle and is heated!

Amazing place! Truffle shells with pork belly is now what I'm craving every day lol. Romano is fun, upbeat, welcoming, he's like a ray of sunshine and you can't not smile when he's talking with you. David was super nice and a great chef! ( We didn't get to meet the 3rd owner that day but I'm sure he's just as wonderful). I'm looking forward to going back to try out other menu options, and have some fun cocktails!! Go support local!!️

This is the kind of thing that made Portland amazing. In this little corner of Milwaukie you get amazing service, impeccable atmosphere, and a quality of food I've not found even high-end restaurants in Portland and around the world. HIGHLY recommend!

I drive by this place almost every weekday and have wanted to try it for a while. A friend and I stopped by to grab a drink and snack after work. The staff were friendly and attentive. We sat outside and the ambiance was nice. Across the street is a daycare and you can hear the kids playing, which doesn't bother me, but every now and then you do hear screaming and crying. The food was good. We had truffle fries for 9 and a hummus plate for 12. Everything tasted fine... I just don't know if it was worth the price. The hummus plate had very small portions of crostini and cucumbers. We asked for more crostini, which they charged us for, but have is a third serving for free. Each serving was about 4 thin slices. We still had more than half of it hummus left when we left. Overall, this just isn't what I expected. Perhaps a little too fancy for me? I would have loved to see a happy hour menu. I'm not sure I would come back.

The ovation bistro & bar is absolutely one of the destinations to visit when visiting or living in Oregon by far some of the best noodles I've ever had, by far the best half pound burger I have ever had. The service is what you dream about when visiting a Denny's or other to start establishment. Ovation bar and grill is by far, the best food I have ever experienced inside and out of the United States. If you are ever visiting Oregon, or the West Coast I urge you to find this culinary masterpiece.

Amazing brunch with a french flair! The beignets and bloody marys were incredible. The staff is friendly and they take Covid precautions seriously. Cute atmosphere and great menu options! I will definitely be back
