My father was buried there 25 years ago. I think the place is beautiful and well kept. When he passed his stone was placed with dark lettering - though it has since worn off, you can still read his. My mother joined him last October. I was told they no longer do the lettering - this is a major disappointment - you can barely read my mother's name - and you definitely cannot read what is below her name - beloved wife, mother and grandma! They need to do the dark lettering!

It is 5/27/2018: I visited the cemetery today for Memorial Day. It is a beautiful sight to see the white stones with flags by them. The grounds are meticulously maintained. As I was taking pictures a visitor placed the red rose on the memorial for the Sky Soldiers that served in Viet Nam. Why she did this is unknown and she did not know I was watching. Obviously the monument had meaning to her. If you read the copy and look at the flower it is a great way to remember those who served.

Humbling. My father is buried here. On my trip to Minnesota, I was able to visit his grave for the first time. I was treated with respect and honor by the staff, even though I am not active military. It was very humbling seeing just how many graves there were and it gave me a new respect for our men and women in the service. I am proud to have my father buried there.

I thought it'd sadden me to visit this place, but, it was unexpectedly very inspiring. I'd go here to learn about your state's history and sacrifices many people have made to earn their spot here.
