What began as a great experience with a few on-site window repairs ended with a terrible final result. The photos show what was delivered after 6 weeks and 1,250 for 5 old storm windows. Loose hardware, chunks of old paint and rotted wood that was simply painted over. I couldn’t even hang these windows because the hardware would have pulled out of the frames and the windows would have ended up on the ground. Even Hayes’ delivery guy said “that’s not right.” Rather than admit they made a mistake and correct the problem, Joe told me this is what I ordered, but if I wanted to load them all back up and bring them back to their shop then they would charge me an additional “reduced rate” to fix them the way they should have been done in the first place. Insulting. I know what it takes to properly restore old windows, and I feel completely scammed. Now I am stuck completely redoing these windows myself because I need them done properly and I certainly don’t want to pay for more work that I’ll have to redo. I would never have guessed this poor level of workmanship would be allowed to leave the shop, let alone not offering any amount of refund. Unfortunately I paid before seeing what would be delivered, so I guess I’m the sucker. I hope this doesn’t happen to others who don’t have the ability to repair Hayes’ mistakes on their own.

Joe, Leah and Sam were all easy to work with, the work was right on schedule with no delays. Tune up and new sash cords will make summer so much better and the replaced glass looks so nice. If you need window work, these are the folks to call.

Every part of Hayes' process was smooth and professional. My 117-year-old windows function beautifully and the technicians left everything cleaner than they found it. There is no need to replace original windows when Hayes can make them work this well.

Joe Hayes was highly recommended to us by another window restoration expert in another part of the country. Joe came to our house, evaluated our windows, and patiently explained the options to us. We opted for full tune-up on some windows, and partial tune-up on others, total of 11 windows. His excellent crew, Jonah and Sam, came for two days to do the work. They arrived promptly, did their work efficiently, and left our house cleaner than they found it. Our 92-year-old windows have never operated so well, and we are now in great shape for the coming winter months. All in all, a first-class experience with Hayes Window Restoration, and we look forward to working with them on future projects. Thanks Joe!
