One of Oregon’s secret jewels the painted hills is the closest you will ever get to an alien planet inside of earth, it feels like is out of this world, the different colors and the rich fossil beds make for this National Park one of the best in the nation hands down this place have a unique mystical vibe.
Beautiful spot. Get here in the early morning or late evening. There is a short walk to the east with a nice view, and a longer walk across the road to the west. Is recommend both if you have the time. The latter provides stunning views off to the west, and I imagine would provide great sunset view of the painted hills.
Such a clean park. Well tended to, plenty of space for many more folks to enjoy. Trails are wide and sturdy. The beauty of these hills cannot be captured in just a photo. Experience of a life time checked off.
