TRUCKERS: first you must check in at ALABAMA STATE DOCKS TRUCK CONTROL (see location on Google Maps). Exit from I-10 to Waters Street, turn right after the Exxon station, do NOT go up the bridge but stay right and follow the signs. Once checked in, follow signs to DOCKS ENTRANCE, which will bring you back to the Exxon station. This time DO go over the bridge to get to the DOCKS ENTRANCE. Be prepared to wait for train traffic - the tracks are right next to the check in and can hold you up for 1/2 hour or longer. Also, they will not allow anyone in without a pass, so if you have a passenger with you, ask for a passenger pass at check-in or leave them waiting at the Exxon (where they also have a Subway with some seating).

Follow Telegraph road close to end they're on left, clearly marked. Have paperwork ready, B.O.L. Dock delivery paperwork. Also license and TWIC card. People were friendly. Dock workers start at 8 a.m. Easy deal

Be sure you have your Twic and license when checking in. Also check with your dispatcher or broker that your delivery order is sent or in your hand for picking up or you won't get loaded. 7-2pm. They are strict on that order form. You will have to get out of line to call and get it so do it beforehand.

There's nothing to like or dislike, it's just a place where truckers check in before being allowed to access the port. Nevertheless, I think this part of the process to accessing the port is completely unnecessary for some truckers, since there seems to be no record keeping.

Very safe and secure place to work.
