Awesome state park. Does cost money to come here was 7 for our car for the day. There were multiple campgrounds, parking areas, and places to enjoy this park. There was a little goods shop, picnic benches and grill spots. Not many people this time of year. Highly recommend the easy big meadows trail to the fossil beach. Trails were relatively dry considering how much rain we’ve had recently. Really beautiful park.

Both the state park and the campground were wonderful places to explore and stay. B44 is a quaint spot, not too far from the restrooms. Potomac River had some beautiful skylines. Fossil beach was a fun place to explore, get their early, lots of foot traffic. Most attractions at the park are closed for season due to covid but still plenty to do and see! They so rent boats. Don't forget your fishing pole!

My vacation didn't start off well at Westmoreland but when I contacted Steve Davis at customer service he was very caring and listened to my problems. Then he set about fixing it to my satisfaction. Great people with integrity and concern. The place itself is absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to go back again.

Loved this place! It was our first time and we'll definitely be back! We walked to fossil beach for the day and then went over to the main beach to watch the sunset. We found 6 shark teeth! Very cool! Water was cold and lots of little jellyfish. We looked up the species and while they don't sting per say, they can cause an allergic reaction. We hunted for shark teeth where there was a small current to avoid the jellies. We found all our teeth by the waters edge. Sure, you can use a strainer but I let the water do the work for me! Perfect weather! We hiked back to the parking lot for lunch.. Not bad of a little hike it took about 20 minutes each time, in or out. You definitely need bug spray! Can't wait to come back! And remember, leave no trace!! ( Saw lots of trash )

First time visiting this park and definitely one of my favorites. My fiance and me walked most of the wather front area and my dog loved it. Not a lot of people out today with was awesome. Definitely recommend this place any time of the year. The trail to fossil Beach, the vibes and the views were amazing .
