It is absolutely amazing what \they\ fit into this rather compact, octagonal, circa 1980's building: shop for swimsuits and water toys, indoor toddler playground, reception area, hot tub, (very small) cardio room, a small lazy river-like whirlpool, 2 lap swim lanes, shallow kiddie pool with slowly descending ramp, aqua exercise pool with water basketball hoops, small diving pool. I have been too many much larger and much more luxurious communal spas -mainly in German speaking Europe- but it is just amazing how much the planners have fit into this much smaller and older facility in Mountlake Terrace, WA. The intelligence and creativity of whoever planned and designed the Mountlake Terrace facility is simply AMAZING! Every town in the country should take this rec center as a model and example how much you can do within a fairly compact space with limited means in what looks like a middle class setting. SIX STARS!

This is a great place for young kids to burn off some energy swimming. The pool is nice and warm with fountains and a soft floor (great to kneel on when playing with your kids). There is a little snack bar to refill their tanks too! There is a sauna, spa, and lazy river too!

The workers are totally not professional and responsible, their working attitude is bad! I called them three times about the swimming class registration info, all of them gave me the wrong information.Maybe you could say, why the workers didn't know their registration dates, it should be the basic responsibility to tell the simple correct information for the accounts, but yes they made mistakes for three times even though it is so simple and basic work. The first time I called is in September, some one told me that I could do the weekend session registration on 15th October, when I intended to do that, I called them again , another one told me that I couldn't because it's for the weekday session and asked me to do the weekend registration on 25th October. And I came today morning, the third one told me that weekend is full, the registration started from 24th October. we pay many different kinds of taxes to the local government every year and hope that they could give us basic concerning and provide basic service, but see what we receive. In my mind, everyone should take the basic responsibility for your job, it's not related about the salary and your feelings, it's just the basic awareness as a real worker, and it's also the basic respect for your work and the community residents!

My family and I love the Pavilion... It's the only place I can use the sauna (always 170*) And the kids can swim and have fun doing their own thing. Cheap and easy to get to from Kirkland.
