We decided to make a last minute trip from Shreveport to have our kiddos get their hands dirty and find some crystals. We were greeted by the sweetest “guard dog” and even sweeter staff. We took the trip up the mountain to the mines. Admittedly this was half the fun of the trip! Every bump and the climb up had our family smiling and enjoyed the ride. Felt very authentic and for sure an adventure. Once up on the top our guide Constance (who is a hoot and super knowledgeable) showed us how to identify crystals and set us off on our hunt. We all loved digging in the red dirt and finding some beautiful crystals. When the time came to depart Constance showed the boys where they could find even more crystal clusters. Fun was had by all!! Thanks for a great time and thank you Constance for all the laughs you may be the real gem of the site! Only advice I can give is wear clothes appropriate for a little rough terrain and ones that are not on constant repeat in your wardrobe as red dirt does not wash out the best!!

Stopped by on a solo rock hunt and this place was a fun spot to dig. Found lots of beautiful crystal. Didn't get a chance to do the phantom crystal hunt but Morgan, who works in the shop where you sign up, gave me a beautiful sample in trade for some lake superior agates. Super cool folks who love rocks need I say more? Will be back for that phantom crystal dig. Thanks Morgan.
We went here right before covid hit. We had never been to a place to mine crystals before so we didn’t know how anything worked. But it really just depends on the place. If you can’t find the info online for what their options and prices are then it’s best to call before hand. We went there and it was still a couple hours away before they’d be ready for a group to go to the caves. So we opted for the field where the crystals that are dug up get dumped with dirt and you can sift through it all. You can stay out there all day until they’re closed if you want! Two grown adults, playing in the dirt. It was my favorite part of our vacation! So therapeutic for the soul. We do plan to return with our daughter next time we’re in Arkansas! So much fun.
Crystal Wonderland! Great quality and selection of minerals combined with professional, personable service. Prices are reasonable too! Disappointed we didn't get to prospect due to chilly temperatures, our choice, but will be back soon!
