I had a lunch in this restaurant. Its atmosphere reminded me of a cafe (喫茶店) in Japan. I really liked it. I had chicken katsu curry (spicy sauce & white rice). It was really spicy but tasted very nice. I was really happy that pickled vegetables (福神漬) were served. Highly recommended.

Muracci's is not your typical Japanese sushi restaurant . Infact they only have two entries on the menu for sushi. Instead it serves spicy/hot Japanese curry. I am a vegetarian, there's only one vegetarian curry on the menu. Yet, it's so mind blowing, I keep going there over and over again. The curries are flavorful, tasty and spicy. They are pretty cramped in space, but i think that's what makes the meal warm and cozy :) The curry has been added to my comfort food list after Maggie noodles , if you know what I mean ;)
The curry dishes are simple (just rice, meat, and the sauce on a plate), but they are flavorful. I could smell the great flavor of the dishes passed around the tables nearby. Every dish, at least, those I saw, looked the same. The only difference was the meat on the plate. I was hoping to find some options on the menu that weren't so heavy, but was not in luck. I thought that the curry chicken dish I ordered was ok, but not something that I would come back for.
The perfect comfort food. A casual dining experience in a small restaurant with friendly employees. Muracci's offers traditional Japanese curry. The menu is appropriately small. I highly suggest arriving as soon as they open and ordering the chicken katsu curry.
Great neighborhood gem! The tonkatsu was perfectly fried - crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The curry entree comes with a small salad a side of pickles. The salad was very fresh with just the right amount the dressing; the pickles are a nice offset to the heaviness of the curry. The tonkatsu curry is simply pork, rice, and curry sauce. There are no vegetables/potatoes that comes with the entree but you can add it. The vegetable tofu curry was less stellar. The vegetables were well cooked, but the fried tofu tasted bland and a little chewy. The curry sauce is hearty and delicious. The wait staff is friendly and courteous.
They serve some good, authentic Japanese curries. Unfortunately, that comes with the price. I like the curry, but whenever I'm paying the bill, I always get that 'It's good, but not THAT good' feeling. For dinner today I had the Hamburger curry, which comes to 18 including tax and tips. What I like is that they offer wasabi dressing for the appetizer salad. It was so good! But then again, I LOVE wasabi, so try at your own risk :D
Amazing curry. Love the brown rice option. Shuts down kitchen 30 mins before closing time.
a must try for any japanese curry aficionado, a little different than the typical brown curry sauce but very tasty with a nice kick of spiciness. eater beware, hot means HOT!!
