This is an amazing place. Get a guided tour if you have the time. Angie was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the Museum. Just some of the facts: 1. Sheriff Bass Reeves made Muskogee his home after he retired from Judge Parker. 2. Girl Scout Cookies were first baked at a Muskogee High School. They were shipped to soldiers if not sold. 3. Oklahoma's first Governor was fr Muskogee. 4. Muskogee was originally spelled Muscogee. The postmistress got so many misspelled letters she changed the spelling of the town's name. 5. There is an original one-room school house. Interesting history you don't want to miss. Just go visit!
I learned many unexpected things in this museum. Small but very interesting. The employee offered to open the school and the train for us even though it was almost their closing time.
This was a beautiful place that I didnt know about. Had a great time.
Great museum about this history of the area, and you can buy vintage Lionel models in the gift shop.
