Highly disappointed after being told this was the best restaurant in town. The \old fashioned\ was watery and didn't compare to the one we had just had at Bar 19 twelve. While the escargot was good, it was not excellent. Service was fairly atrocious, as we waited 30 minutes for our drinks and appetizer order. The meal was decent, but not aircraft, the side dishes were terrible. On a good note, the French onion soup was excellent.

Fantastic!! This is one of those places that must be on your bucket list. The greatest thing besides the delicious she-crab soup, and filets that you can cut with a butter knife, is the atmosphere. Quaint, cozy, laid back, smooth jazz... this is the perfect date night spot with the spouse. Treat yourself and enjoy the finer things in life!!

OMG!!! We had the beef tips and shrimp appetizer. We enjoyed the Prohibition Manhattan and the martini with the blue cheese stuffed olives. Followed by the rack of lamb and the duck cerise. The bourbon cherry sauce is exquisite! Finished up with their champagne peach cheesecake, which was seasonal, but should definitely be kept on the menu. Spent a couple of hundred easy, but it was well worth it. A beautiful and intimate dinner with an attentive server. Brian M. made our meal memorable. Highly recommended. Step over to 88 Keys door and enjoy live music and beautiful ambiance

The Library was recommended by several people so we decided to give it a try. Went in and sat at the bar and there were a total of 3 other customers. We were completely ignored by the bartender who clearly is ill-suited for a customer facing position. We asked for menus and they were given to us without comment. We sat for another 10 minutes while she chatted with another customer. At that point we got up and left and won’t return. If I could give it zero stars I would because I received zero service. AWFUL.

In a town that features so many all-you-can-stuff-in-your-pie-hole emporiums and bad pizza joints, The Library is an oasis of civilized calm and good-to-excellent classic French fare with prices and business casual dress-code that turns away the swim trunks and flip-flop crowd. Once located in downtown Myrtle, the Library has moved up the Kings Hwy to a strip-mall location, but no matter, the good idea remains the same. Black table cloths and red walls lined with (reportedly) 7000 books, it also has a very cool but small bar area, and is attached to an adjacent piano bar (88 keys). For foodies there are traditional French items like Steak Diane, Duck (Orange or Cherry), Escargot, with lots of seafood entrees as specials (Halibut, Sole, etc) from time to time. We had a seafood trio appetizer (Crab, Lobster, Shrimp) that was quite good, and we tried the table-prepped Caesar Salad, along with She-Crab soup for extra caloric intake. The Library has been around since the 70's, which brings to mind the famous family run \Pamplemousse\ in Las Vegas, which has tragically closed after almost 50 years in business. So leave the little kiddies at home unless they have been to etiquette class, plan to spend about 100 to 150 per person, and head to The Library - it's as close to classic French gastronomy as one will find in a South Carolina beach town. Reserve ahead on weekends because it is small and is quite popular!
