Great planetarium. Definitely a good show. Seats were also comfy. Definitely would recommend.

It’s a beautiful addition to our city and the shows are wonderful, we love to take our grandkids!
Amazing place to learn about astronomy and the stars!
Located inside the Ed and Gwen Cole STEM Building on the SFA campus, the planetarium is pretty much brand new. If you are in Nacogdoches or the surrounding area and want something fun, different, and educational to do on a Saturday afternoon, you should go check it out. My husband and I went last Saturday and got a short crash course on astronomy as the speaker showed us the night sky, a few constellations, and even gave us a close up look at Jupiter and Staurn. Then we saw "Dark Universe", a visually stunning show narrated by Neil Degrasse Tyson. As I said before the structure is new (open maybe a year or less) and so the technology is new, crisp, and clear. The planetarium has seating for 114 but there were maybe 30 people inside, so it was nice and quiet with plenty of space. This is a family friendly venue but I wouldn't recommend for children under about 7 or 8 unless they are able to be quiet and sit for a little over an hour staring up at the ceiling. There are shows specifically geared towards the little ones during the summer, usually the earliest of the two or three shows that play each Saturday. You can check the website for what shows are playing and when. We enjoyed it very much and plan to go back and see more of the shows that they offer!
