Nice spot to stop and walk near the river. Location can be over-used and bringing your own trash bag to clean a little can help. Up the path along the old dike there is a nice swimming hole that often includes a swinging rope in the old oak tree. Watch for poison oak on all paths. Many paths are much more overgrown then they used to be.

This place was a hidden gem! We decided to take a drive down Silverado Trail. As we made our way down the road I saw a scenic overlook sign. We decided to take the turn and check it out. We were so happy we found this place! There was a small parking lot off the road. When you walk down the trail a bit there is a fork. We decided to take a right to go up a hill and were delighted to see Napa River just below. The kids enjoyed taking their shoes off to walk through the waters. They all said the water was much warmer than expected. This was our favorite spot on the trip to Napa. Definitely something to enjoy with kids and dogs too!

Beautiful, easily accessed, easily walked and easily enjoyed! No formal picnic areas but that is most of the charm, find a nice spot by the water and have fun! Some folks will leave garbage behind, I always bring a trash bag to help pick up, would be great if more did the same! Also, would totally give five stars if we could come up with a water crossing or bridge that is better than the current rope swing! Love this spot!

Lovely trail between vineyards and the Napa River. More an auditory delight than a visual one. The songs of happy birds and rushing water. Lots of poison oak intruding on the path.
