My daughter has been training in the club for 2 years now. I can see how much she improved physically, mentally and most of all self-esteem and confidence. I certainly recommend this highly professional karate club for kids and adults alike.

Sensei Nataliya is a fantastic instructor. She has received honors from some of the most respected and well-known teachers in martial arts and it shows. Sensei Nataliya is dedicated to providing a comprehensive education in both the physical and mental aspects of karate. Every class, Sensei Nataliya is prepared with a variety of training techniques that emphasize intelligent and healthy body movements and practical application of technique. Training at this dojo has quickly become the activity I look forward to the most each week! Having a Sensei as communicative and passionate as Sensei Nataliya has made my experience with Nashville Shotokan Karate delightful, challenging, and enriching.

Sensei Pidkovka is an excellent instructor, who learned her art from some of the best and well-respected Japanese karate experts. She teaches traditional karate, with an emphasis on it being a life-long practise, to attain and maintain health and fitness, along with the self-defense aspects of karate-do. The mental aspects, body mechanics, and understanding that we are all somewhat different, lends an intellectual perspective and achieves attainable goals and continued progression in this ancient Japanese system.

Highly recommended! After moving to the Nashville area, I decided to start martial arts training again (yes, at 54 years old!). After visiting several area schools/dojos, I chose the Nashville Shotokan Karate club. I feel that it is important to get a good vibe and connection from the school. My initial thoughts were that, after sitting in on a couple classes, I liked the atmosphere of class and Nataliya Pidkovka sensei’s teaching style. Now that I have been attending classes for a couple of months, that initial impression has not changed. I very much like Nataliya Pidkovka sensei’s approach. She is technical, expects the content to be learned correctly and is open to questions at any time (unlike some dojos where questions are discouraged or outright not allowed). I look forward to continued training at the Nashville Shotokan Karate club.

I walked into Nashville Shotokan Karate Club a few months ago, completely new to Karate...not new to martial arts. I have 3 black belts in Taekwondo. Karate and traditional Taekwondo are very different fundamentally though. Sensei Natalyia welcomed whole-heartedly and has always shown the highest level of respect and grace toward me. Starting over in anything is never easy, however I have always felt supported and appreciated in my training in Shotokan. It's not always easy, but Sensei helps you make the mind/body connection more than any instructor I've had before. We do exercises to relax the mind once we enter the dojo and prepare to give our full attention to the class for just one hour. This club and the classes are perfect for all ages and all fitness levels, regardless of any past martial arts training. EVERYONE can benefit from martial arts training--you gain flexibility, strength, agility, as well as self-discipline, concentration, and focus. Everyone is welcome. I'm so glad I found Nashville Shotokan Karate Club and I encourage anyone thinking about it to give it a try as well. You will not regret it.
