(Actually called the Tennessee Language Center now that it's been acquired by the University of Tennessee Institute for Public Service.) I've been taking evening group classes here for over a year now (Spanish with both Maya and Jorge). Sometimes I feel like progress has been slow, but when I look back at my ability a year ago, I realize how rapidly I've improved. When you're studying a second language as an adult, you won't get more than you put into it, and TLC's teachers set you up to get the most out of your experience. (Another note: Hours listed by Google are a bit misleading; there are group classes at least some nights until 8pm.)

I found TFLI by way of a recommendation from a colleague at my company, I only wish that I had started sooner. Speaking with people in a group setting who are all beginners like yourself really takes the stress out of learning a new language. The class I was in (beginner German) was a very practical and well paced, 2 hour class every Wednesday evening and worked perfect with my schedule. Our instructor Helia always makes class a blast and has a great way of teaching the language.

I love TFLI and its language offerings. Wonderful, skilled instructors with native or near native fluency have created an environment where languages are possible and fun to learn. I have been taking German classes for the past several semesters and recently took up Italian. I highly recommend TFLI.
