Amazing place to view the fall colors without all the crowds of places nearby like Brown County State Park. And seeing it by water makes it the perfect social distancing activity with so many fun coves and outlets to explore. Do be careful if you are navigating with Google Maps to the boat ramp. It suggested I take this rough dirt road that led to an area below the dam and spillway. Later on, I found the boat ramp off the paved road that would have made launching much easier.

Beautiful forest and trails. If you have done the trails at Brown County and looking for something different (better) try Yellowwood. Trail signage on the lake trail was not very clear.

Once again had a wonderful time exploring the Creeks of Yellow wood it's an amazing place . I ran into an awesome red eye box turtle and found a nice geode or two :) We saw many end of the year mushrooms and fungus as well :) So if you are in the area make sure to come and explore the Yellow Woods :)

We had a great nearly five mile hike around the lake and a picnic afterward. It was hard to find the trail sometimes. We had to cross 6” deep water at one point in a creek (not sure if we were supposed to but couldn’t see where the tail was) and didn’t see very many people which made it nice.

Beautiful state park year round; great for photography. Close proximity to Indianapolis.
