Absolutely love this temple and the history it brings to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I especially love the solid wood lockers used in this temple oppose to metal lockers used in other temples, really hits home to bringing this temple to the same feeling of when it was originally built.

It's much bigger than I thought it would be. Amazing architecture and interior design. Even if you're not an LDS member, it's worth visiting the grounds and the area around it. The flats are like a pioneer-themed Disneyland.

I have been anxiously looking forward to visiting this temple since it was built in 2002. It did not disappoint. To drive up the hill and see this majestic temple facing west towards the Mississippi was awe inspiring and a joy in my life to see. It stands as a monument to the life and prophetic work of Joseph Smith, the latter-day profit, and modern witness of the living Savior, Jesus Christ. I love that they rebuilt it on the exact same spot as the original one, and it looks like the original one, with a few minor changes. The last time I was there, in 1997, there were a lot of buildings west of the temple lot, these are all gone, and now the grass just slopes away and down off the hill westward towards the river, creating such an amazing view, as you can see in my pictures.

Why are there still pentagrams at the top of the Nauvoo Temple? I was born and raised mormon. Most will not be able to answer that question.. 2002 Gordon B Hinckley added those satanic symbols to the Nauvoo temple....Why?????

Wonderful place. Very peaceful. We were there in June and I got to spend a sunset taking pictures. Even if you can't go inside, which I recommend if possible, visit the grounds and enjoy it. June was a great time to visit Nauvoo; fewer bugs and fewer people. The weather was great without the high humidity of later summer. We'll definitely be back.
