Lux Homes

I'm sharing my experience in hopes of helping anyone in the market for a modular home. It took about a year of shopping around before I finally decided on moving forward with Down East Homes. This was my forever home so I made sure to get exactly what I've always wanted. I would 100% recommend speaking to Christian if you decide on checking them out. He made sure I was comfortable throughout this whole process and really took his time to make sure I got everything I asked for. Definitely recommend!!!

Customer service is A plus until they have your earnest money and then its non-existent. If you're getting your place under pinned make sure you ask them to do it \the right way\ because if you dont specifically ask them to do it that way, they do it the cheap way. When it messes up in 3 months their response is it's my fault for not asking for it to be done correctly. Also wasnt told I needed gutters and to do landscaping to make my underpinning effective. Big surprise there. Promise you any problems you have after they have their money is now your problem.

So we ordered the home October 16, 2017 with a promise that it would take 6 weeks to complete the project. Finally moved in on May 11, 2018 after many emails and phone calls. AC stopped working the night we moved in (Friday) and no one fixed until Monday. No one informed us the sewer pipe would be above ground. Spoke with their employee regarding the sewer drain pictured and he promised to grade it out so we could use our back yard and back door. Has not happened as of today. They did not install the driveway as promised, but left the temporary pipe my father installed. Our cabinet door fell off less than a week in the home. This is what 146,000 buys you from Down East Realty.

When I moved back to New Bern I started with a rental home. I decided that I wanted my forever home to be in ENC. I started my home search but couldn't find anything I liked and that didn't need thousands in upgrades or repairs. I came across Down East Realty & Custom Homes and I never looked back. They are very friendly, knowledgeable, patient and most of all, very interested in making your dream home come true. They walked us through the process step by step, answered every question, concern, wish and more. My advice to all is don't by old homes or homes built that someone else designed, buy new. Pick and choose what you want in your home. Thank you to my Down East family for making our dream home come true and very affordable.
