This place is laid back with great people. We did a refresher course, it was low key and covered all the bases. The price was also quite fair, which is welcome in sport that often nickel and dimes you.

Ocean Explorer

I certified as on open water diver with NM scuba center. I also purchased all of my equipment here. They took care of some financing too. They will spend as much time with you as you need if you have questions. They will walk you through every purchase and handle warranties for your gear. I literally bombarded these people with questions, repetitive questions, and found that they were always happy to educate me. On the diving side of things the quality of the training is high, while the instructors manage to keep it fun. The instructors have diverse diving backgrounds, and bring a great amount of experience to the table. It was exactly the experience I was hoping for when I first walked in the door.

I was thoroughly impressed with the New Mexico Scuba Center. Stacey, the owner, took time out of her schedule to speak with my husband and I at length about gear and diving in general. She didn't pressure us with sales tactics and listened to our needs/wants before suggesting something. I would HIGHLY recommend this store if you are looking to pick up some new gear or just want gain knowledge about the sport.

Huge kudos to the New Mexico Scuba Center regarding our recent open water certification course! My wife and I received our certification within the last month, and our instructors were fantastic! Chris and Jim are very professional, extremely knowledgable, and they made the course fun and entertaining. It is very apparent that safety is indeed paramount with respect to their instruction and supervision. They are highly vigilant during the pool sessions and quick to assist if anyone encounters any difficulty. They also have great depth of experience that they incorporate into their instruction. After our certification, my wife and I went on a dive trip down in the Florida Keys, and we felt very comfortable and confident as new divers after having completed the certification course with the New Mexico Scuba Center. Our dive guide and boat captain during that trip were impressed with our preparation. I highly recommend the New Mexico Scuba Center to anyone interested in the certification course.

We had such a positive experience with New Mexico Scuba Center, they were very professional and accommodating for my husband and I, as we had to take a break in the first class and pick it up the next month. This gave us the opportunity to meet more of the excellent staff and instructors. Stacey (The owner), Chris, Jim, Kevin, Keith, Shannon, John, and Shawn were all top notch and made us feel comfortable in the new and exciting underwater environment. Going to Blue Hole to finish our certification was the icing on the cake. Honestly I can't say enough about how awesome I think this operation is! I look forward to getting other certifications, hopefully getting out to a "Bubbles and Brats" and going on a group trip! Big Thank You to each and every staff member, You All ROCK! I received my certification in Sept. 2014. The over all experience was great, the instructors and the staff at New Mexico Scuba are top notch. They are very patient and have lots of experience I always felt comfortable with what they were teaching and confident they wold take the time to make sure i was doing it right.
