I wanted to like this place based on the menu and that it's in our neighborhood. I just can't. Here's why: the place had too many people in it given covid regulations and the bartender was terrible. She wasn't a trained bartender at all. Made a terrible old fashioned ( with Buffalo Trace, no less) and wouldn't honor a request for a boulevardier ( another 3 ingredient bourbon cocktail). Wanted our card to start a tab immediately, but never brought a menu. Decided to forego the goodies on the menu given the mediocre bartender service. If the drinks aren't good, why bother with the food?When paying that tab, she didn't ask my husband's name to retrieve his card. Instead, she held out several and asked him to tell her which one. Poor security. In New Orleans, there is NO excuse for having an incompetent grumpy bartender. Sorry. Not sorry.

Can I say vegetarian/vegan New Orleans options!!! I didn't think much of this place from the exterior but I finally tried it out and their food is fantastic. They have a vegan gumbo, a rotating vegan soup and a butter bean dish. I am not a rice person and even the rice was special. I have been a vegetarian for a long time and it takes me alot to say their food is astounding. I spoke to the chef and he truly takes his art seriously. Unassuming, quaint and they seem to have a good bar selection. If they can make vegetables that good; I can only imagine what the regular menu tastes like.
The people who own Artisan are so kind and friendly, and the food is absolutely amazing Cajun comfort food. I have to order the boudin balls and wings every time. Recently I tried the butter beans and they were outstanding.
Beautiful nice place food an drinks or good atmosphere is nice owner's is cool as hell
