I’ve been wanting to check out Au Za’atar for over a year now and finally was able to drop in for dinner. They have space heaters at each table which made dining very comfortable. My waiter was super helpful in explaining items on the menu and had recommendations if you were unsure of what to get. Highly recommend the muhammara, it’s got a kick but is also sweet. Never had anything like it before. And the combo platter for 2 was absolutely amazing and came on a hot plate so the meat never got cold. Definitely give it a go!

one of the best restaurants I've been to in NYC and certainty the best Lebanese. huge portions, comfortable seating. wine was on pricey end (16 glass) so might be more economic to just get a bottle. great service and fantastic hummus

We been there to try the famous table side chicken shawarma. The flavor was great also the portions is generous with grilled tomato, pepper and fries. We also got the mix appetizers tower . The place was heated. Also, the staff was nice and friendly.

The food was amazing this time! And the service was good too. The only thing that was not so great is the fries were too salty. I also heard from a friend that went there before I did and said the food was okay but not so great so keep that in mind. It might depend on the day you go

It was a nice sunny day in the East Village and I was in the mood for meat, what better than discovering this gem of a spot serving table side lamb, beef, or chicken shawarma along with all the Lebanese and Mediterranean classics you can think one. Come here with a group of friends and enjoy a feast. This place is meant for sharing.
