We really liked the food here! Everything tasted very fresh, the dim sum were generously sized but did not feel too heavy. Indoor dining felt comfortable here as well as the tables were very spaced out. Service was really good as well and prices are very reasonable for the food quality/quantity and experience. Wish we loved a bit closer to come more regularly!

Great restaurant serving Shanghainese/Zhejiang food. I’m glad this underrepresented cuisine found a home at CheLi. They do a fantastic job. Definitely coming back and would happily reorder everything pictured. The 小笼包 (soup dumplings) are freshly made and steamed. They taste much better than pre-made and frozen ones.
Very nice place, the food is great with amazing and creative presentation. Perfect place to hang out with your friends! The interior design is fun and outstanding. The service is great as well. People in there are nice, friendly and professional!
Tasty food, lovely shanghai style restaurant, new to east village. They serving a great variety of traditional flavor food. The food and beverages both are savory. BTW, we love our server for giving us a great introduction.
Easily the best Shanghainese cuisine restaurant I've been to. My wife is Shanghainese and hasn't went home in a few years and we lack good Shanghainese food here in Boston. While visiting New York, we were recommended here by a friend to come try. The Xiao Long Bao is easily one of the best, but a surprise favorite for me is the smoky sour fish. I also love the way they serve tea as well! Easily coming back to NY just to eat here! I wish they have one in Boston. Excellent atmosphere, it's like stepping back in time
Third time visit and I feel this is a good place for groups. Highly recommend the following dishes: 1. Stew Chicken and special mushroom soup (warm and nice soup, shareable) 2. Braised Rice (Porcini/ Bolete Mushroom and pepper cooked with rice, might be a bit too oily for some people. I took the leftover back home and added additional white rice, it tastes great!) (Can be shared for 4 ppl) 3. Meiling Congee This is a desert that similar to rice pudding, with Chinese Yam topping. Can be shared by 4 ppl. If you like eel and pecking duck wraps, don’t forget to order the Qianlong’s favorite eel. What I don’t recommend is the shrimp dish. It has the cool smoke but taste average. It’s good for Instagram photos though.
I really love there. The food, service and vibe are great! Eel tastes soooo good. Recommend to everyone.
Food 5/5 We ordered soup dumplings, water spinach, braised pork belly w quail eggs, longjing shrimp, wine sauce chicken, and smoked fish. I loved every single dish, as they all brought me back to Shanghai. I'm so happy they had water spinach, sincr I haven't tasted that in AGES. The smoked fish was super addicting and tender, with an amazing sauce. The pork belly wasn't too fatty, and the soup dumplings were full of flavor and juice. A beautiful meal!! Interior 5/5 Super unique and memorable design, small details are everything. Service 5/5 Absolutely nothing to complain about, very attentive and explained all the dishes.
