I've long been a fan of the Corkbuzz experience in both NYC locations, as well as the Charlotte outpost, but during the Covid-related closures and restrictions, Corkbuzz immediately switched gears and began offering online Zoom classes--taught by the excellent Somm/Beverage Director Ryan Totman; DipWSET Amber Rill; wine-famous guest speakers; and the one-and-only MS/Proprietor Laura Maniec-Fiorvanti. The virtual, hour-long classes are available daily and, as for as little as 10, may cover region, sub-region, varietal, viticulture, vinification, or something else entirely. Participation via Zoom is encouraged but not required; and the content can sometimes be advanced for a novice—but there is nothing covered that isn’t interesting to a true aficionado! And if you happen to be in the industry, preparing for exams, or are just THAT hardcore, go to Corkbuzz.com immediately and sign up ASAP.

I had the most wonderful experience attending my first wine class at Corkbuzz. I am one of those people who drink a lot of wine, and have always wanted to more about wines, regions and find wines that I really loved. The space itself is designed really beautifully and is great if you want to come with a date, a group, or solo like I did. I didn't feel alone being solo, and actually got to talk to a lot of great people and make friends- so it's a great social activity as well. The sommelier, Andrew, was incredibly knowledge and engaging, and laid out his presentation to include the perfect balance of history, wine education and personality! Now, for the wines.. I discovered probably the best Rose I have ever had, and cannot wait until summer rolls around. There was a wonderful variety of reds, whites and sparkling wines. They provided a handout that included the information that Andrew was sharing, but also the names and regions of each wine for future reference. A delicious sampling of breads, cheese, dips and toasts were provided, so that you could sip without getting too hungry or tipsy! I think Corkbuzz is such an awesome place for a glass of wine, to take a date or to grab some friends for a wine class. Definitely a must try! Put them on your list!

The food is aways excellent as is the wine list. One if my favorite things about Corkbuzz is that the servers are passionate about wine and love to talk about it with you. We don't get here enough. Shout outs to Amber and Dorian

Corkbuzz is far more than a restaurant and wine bar, its a wonderful community for lovers of both wine and food. While quarantined, being able to take the virtual wine classes through Corkbuzz was absolutely amazing. At the time, I had been living over an hour and half from the nearest (wine) tasting groups in Boston, so being able to taste and interact with people who share the same passion for wine was and is awesome! Having bottles shipped to me blind, as part of one of the virtual classes, has also been immensely helpful in my studies for the Certified Sommelier exam. Not to mention, all the wines in the shipment were delicious. So grateful to learn from such knowledgable team and I can't wait to visit when Corkbuzz able to fully reopen.

Excellent spot to have happy hour wines and snacks. we got there early so it wasn't really busy and we could hear each other. I just had the house special white which was delicious and my drinking companion tried a few different wines. We also had the cacio e Pepe popcorn and the hand cut fries with Parmesan. Definitely coming back for more!
