I had a wonderful experience in my A1.1 beginners class at Deutsches Haus. I appreciate that our teacher, Sybille, emphasized the importance of conversation and speaking the language out loud, which is too often missing from language classes elsewhere. At the same time, we also focused on grammar and constructing sentences correctly. My classmates were from all over the world: Lithuania, China, Brazil, England, etc., and had various reasons for learning German, so all of this diversity enhanced our collective learning. Sybille also provided the German cultural context behind many of our lessons. I would highly recommend a class at Deutsches Haus to someone at any level, from a beginner like me to a fluent speaker. And you cannot beat the warm and welcoming vibe of the Haus itself!

I am registering for my third course at Deutsches Haus in preparation for my move to Austria later this year. As someone with a real-world need to learn the German language, I can tell you that the instruction exceeds expectations. My teachers have been consistently clear, motivated and engaged throughout my twenty weeks of attendance. The classes are small enough for everyone to participate and ask questions, and I've found the textbook and supplementary materials extremely helpful. The costs are quite reasonable when you consider the dollar amount per hour of class time.

A combination of an engaging faculty and an incredibly accommodating and friendly staff have made my experience here a truly enriching one. I would highly recommend anyone interested in learning or practicing their German check out a class here. Also having attended many of the events hosted by Deutsches Haus, I would recommend anyone with any passing interest in German culture / literature / art check out their amazing lineup of events, readings, and panels.
