I came for an annual check-up and mammogram prescription with Dr. Leat Mechlovitz. I was charged 400 for mammography services, which surprised me because usually, when my previous doctor ordered a mammogram screening, I was 100% covered. Upon calling my insurance, I was told that the doctor assigned a \diagnostic\ order instead of a \screening\ order. I requested multiple times to correct the mammogram code. I am not getting any response to my emails. I would not recommend this doctor, and if you go, be very careful to INSIST that the mammogram be a \screening\ order, or you will be charged a diagnostic, and your insurance may not cover the cost. Good luck !

I have been with Downtown Women for as long as I can remember. I personally see Dr. Buxbaum, and she is fantastic. She generally meets with me first, and we go over every detail of my health. She takes her time, and asks questions. She is personable, as is the balance of the staff. I feel amazing well taken care of!

My first time here was a great experience! I got there 20 mins early, and they took me early so I was able to leave 3 mins after my set appointment time - that was great. Super fast and efficient despite a lot of other patients there. I saw Dr. Patina Lui, and she was so lovely - warm, friendly, answered any questions I had and made me feel very comfortable. She also offered me a flu shot which I got super quickly, that was dope. I'll definitely be coming back!

This practice is severely understaffed. New \Pandemic parameters\ for this practice is that they do not need to communicate with you on any timeline, unless you are giving birth or hemorrhaging. This is direct quote from Dr. Buxbaum's email to me. Nurses station a VM dump. The one time I got through, nurse Cara Dubroff angrily stated: \you are NOT our priority!\. Messages sent via patient's Portal do not get answered for weeks, sometimes longer. You can, however, set up a PAID Video call for your questions, new medications, followups and/or referrals. My guess is that is how this practice stays afloat. Completely unethical behavior. Pandemic or not, this \WOMEN for WOMEN\ practice gets zero stars.
