A genuinely good find on the upper east side! This restaurant is an institution being able to survive for over 35 years! The atmosphere is small and romantic, while the food is fresh and very good. The service is also topnotch. I highly recommend this restaurant, but make sure to get make reservations!

Excellent place for dinner or a date. Dark, cozy, quiet, good food and the best Tiramisu in NYC! They also had whole grain spaghetti, which I tried and liked a lot. It will be better if make a reservation, as the place has limited seating.

I love how cozy and intimate it is inside. We had our engagement dinner here with a few friends. They were very accommodating with us. The for was fantastic! The octopus appetizer was really good.

This place is absolutely phenomenal but you must reserve early! The food is spectacular, service is top notch, and a great wine list. The room is small and dark, maybe 10 tables? If you're lucky, you may even see a celebrity or two like I did!

This place is a hidden gem in NYC. Cozy, small place serving delicious Italian dishes and wine, perfect for a date or special occasion. We booked a few weeks ahead and were met by the manager, who was very friendly, as well as the waiter.

This is undoubtedly the most romantic restaurant in New York City. The service is top-notch, the food and wine are excellent and the atmosphere is cozy and intimate. An absolute gem of the upper east side!

I had really been looking forward to trying Erminia, so it's disappointing that I have to write this review. In short, we were rudely made to leave after 50 minutes because we disclosed that we wouldn't be having dinner--but did want drinks and appetizers--despite the fact that we were one of just four occupied tables in the (albeit small, but not *that* small) dining room. It was 5:30 pm on a Sunday. We asked if we could finish our glasses of wine, and they told us we had ten minutes. We asked if we could go ahead and order the appetizer and stay longer (we would have done so earlier, but the waiter took away the food menu when we disclosed we wouldn't be having a full meal--we were too deep in conversation to protest), and we were told, "It's too late." The provided explanation was that they were very busy and very small, and the table was reserved. This was hard to understand, given that, again, the place was nearly empty. If that particular table were reserved (in which case, why would they have given it to us?) we would have been happy to have moved to another one--but this apparently was not an option. Throughout this process, the treatment we received was not gracious or apologetic, but mildly disdainful. I have never had an experience like this one, and will not be recommending this spot to any of my friends or colleagues in the neighborhood.
