Impeccable service. Delicious food and wine. You can have a great meal at a reasonable (for Manhattan) price if you're careful, or you can go all out and celebrate surviving a year of the pandemic (you won't regret it). Especially great place to go for a date night.

I've visited twice now and both times I've been blown away by the food and service here. The always evolving menu keeps things fresh with each visit. An absolutely perfect date spot as many if not all of the dishes are shareable. Lovely beverage selection, both servers I had were extremely knowledgable. Feels luxurious but won't break the bank, something I always appreciate. Definitely check this place out!

It was my 2nd time here, and both times have been very memorable dining experiences. It’s always a good sign when a restaurant is focused on its unique point of view on a specific cuisine. You can’t get this type of Spanish food anywhere else. So decadent yet comforting. The staff is extremely friendly and it feels like you’re eating/drinking with friends beyond your table. And they have their heat lamp game on point. I recommend frequent visits to this restaurant.

Beautiful decor, exquisite food and great service! Every time I’ve come to Ernesto’s the food has always been delicious! The menu changes with the ingredients in season, so every time I go I always find something new to eat. However, I do wish some dishes would be permanent as they are too delicious to only have once! On tus occasion we had the asparagus which were cooked to perfection, the shrooms with eggs and the Reuben bikini as appetizers. We then had the rice with mushrooms which was exquisite. It’s always a pleasure to dine here. Ernesto’s is a neighborhood favorite.

A great neighborhood spot in the Basque tradition that reminds us of living in Spain. Menu changes often which is a nice surprise, and having a Gilda as an appetizer sure reminds me of Donostia.

Disclaimer: this review is based on the general Spanish food scene in New York City, NOT THAT IN SPAIN!!! TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STANDARDS!!!! I would say that Ernesto’s is definitely the best Spanish restaurant so far in NYC, along with the improved food quality in Mercado Little Spain. The price is definitely at the higher end, so please keep that in mind if you decide to go. What I like: 1. croquetas (you know it’s gonna be good when the bechamel inside is moist and oozy, the outside is crunchy and crispy) 2. tortilla de patatas!!!! (This one is a must. The best tortilla so far in nyc I’ve ever had. The inside is oozing out when you cut it. Hella good. Gotta give this 12/10) 3. Callos madrileños (no explanation needed) 4. Milhojas (riquísimo!!!) 5. Pork collar (ibérico pork, no need to explain) 6. Gildas (this one is good, but needs more olive oil 7/10) 7. Patatas con paleta de jamón (chips are crispy, reminds me of Spanish aperitivo) What I don’t like: 1. Txistorra - outer needs to be CHARRED more, por favor 2. Ensalada de tomate - Where is the salt? Where is the olive oil??? 3. Escabeche - we were expecting the classic escabeche (like the one prepared with perdiz) We didn’t order pan con tomate but gotta say that it looks good. Service was ok, could be better and more efficient. We definitely did not appreciate the 20% gratuity added to our bill.

The best of the best!!! Everyone at Ernesto’s make you feel like family and they are all so caring and knowledgeable about the cuisine, menu, and experience. The food is always perfect, thoughtful, and innovative. Alex and Davitta and Chef Ryan have created the most magical restaurant and you should RUN there with your friends and family ASAP!
