I’ve passed by Golden Unicorn many times over the years but never tried it until tonight during Restaurant Month/Week. The food was good and staff friendly. The tasting menu was truly great with a soup/drink, dim sum, egg tarts and a rice dish with a few good choices for each. I’ll be back again and again, long after Restaurant Month ends.

Keeping it real out here in CT Wish I get to go inside but nonetheless had my first outdoor dimsum experience and was quite a positive experience. Despite limited seating we were able to be seated with very little wait, the ordering process was simple with menu in both English and Chinese. Staff were very patient and professional, even made sure we were warm enough from the heating lamp. We ordered our favorite dishes and they were simply amazing. Times are tough during COVID but this is one place that's doing things right. Will love to visit again soon.

The waiters are extremely rude and kept bad mouthing us with judgemental statements in our back. Simply because we asked for a heater for outdoor dining and they said we didn't ask for the heater before we sat down so it's too late for a heater and it's completely our fault. The food was served cold. The tea bottle and tea cups were dirty with leftover teas from previous customers. I asked for a replacement of utensil and the waiter said I didn't speak standard American English, nobody understands me. Every waiter we encountered was with a utter hostile attitude and seemed to wanting to pickup a fight with you. The gratuity was forced to added to the bill. If I could give this place a zero star, I would, one star is for the qualify good that represents the hardwork the chefs have put in.

WORST DIM SUM PLACE. The food was served cold and in plastic bowls, the staff did not even bother to put it out on a real plate. The food is overpriced and artificial. It’s usually like this in Chinatown, but I’ve never had food this artificial. I don’t know if they serve food like this to tourists and non-Chinese to trick them or not. The meat is not fresh and added way too much starch. The service is extremely rude: walk away while you’re talking and very unresponsive.

Our party of four visited Golden Unicorn for an early lunch on a Saturday morning and were promptly seated outdoors. We were impressed with the attentiveness of the wait staff, as well as their safety precautions, with each wait staff wearing a face mask, a face shield, and gloves. The dim sum menu was relatively limited, which I attributed to the restaurant essentially moving its operations outdoors and shifting to a delivery/take-out model. However, we enjoyed each of the dishes that we ordered and would dine at Golden Unicorn again. The outdoor tables were comfortable, and we felt there was sufficient distance between us and the pedestrians walking on the sidewalk.
