This place is your gateway to the magical Governors Island! ️ Ferries ️ depart every 40 mins and tickets are free for NYCID card holders and senior citizens. Get tickets in advance on the Governors Island website to stop the line. The ferry also provides a quick and easy ride to the island with sepctacular views of NYC skyscrapers ️, Staten Island, Lady Library, and more. I wish it departed more often!

You must go here!! Looking for a change but can go to far? This is the place! Number one you get a ferry ride which is so relaxing! If it gets to hot in the summer there is an indoor air conditioning Indoor seating area!!! Second you’ll have the best time governors island!!! I highly recommended going!!!

I think they do a great job of social distancing people in line but once in the boat people are too close together.

It gets crowded. As in can hardly walk through the bikes and people crowded. But there is a lot to see and do here. Nice parks, hammocks, food, gardens, the skyline and landmarks. A good spot to spend a day, but I'd suggest taking a picnic rather than eating there. There are places to rent bikes if you don't want to walk around and most things are pretty well signed, so don't worry about getting lost.

Governors Island is a secret getaway in Manhattan for city dwellers. I recommend taking the 10am ferry and then renting a bike to tour the island before the throngs arrive. Keep your eyes open and you’ll discover amazing sights from the Queen Mary 2 docking in Brooklyn to a unicycle festival and for the month of September, an amazing art fair.

Love this unique historical place with beautiful view. When you visit here you must rent the bicycle. It was my best experience with my kids

Not the best times, mostly an hour apart between boats but it’s a peaceful ride to governors anyhow. It’s small. Makes you wonder what the rest of the building has.

Quick and easy. Nice views of the city. About 10 minute ride. Must wear a mask and must pre order tickets. No food or drink available on board. Not sure about a restroom.
