I was actually referred to Lexington Avenue Hardware by a Home Depot associate, 2 weeks ago, after trying & failing to fix a lamp myself. Today was my 3rd visit to pick up a 2nd repaired lamp by Richard, resident lamp repair man extraordinaire! Though the cost is not necessarily low (I recently had 1 of the 2 lamps rewired elsewhere) then unfortunately subsequently broke both! It’s not easy to find a good lamp that are inexpensive, & I really wanted to keep both of these. I am thrilled I was able to have the lamps repaired & am forever indebted to Richard for his expertise!

Hello New York

I would rather give my business to a small neighborhood store than to one of the big chains like Home Depot. If you feel the same way, give them a try before going to one of the bigger stores. They are conveniently located and will probably have what you need. Some of their prices might be higher than the bigger stores , but they are a small business and are paying Manhattan rent. I recommend giving them a try, especially if you need to pick something up for a small job.
