The Metropolitan Room is a fabulous place to see a real live New York show. I've seen anything from jazz to comedy on their stage. The venue is an upscale intimate club that seats 115 guests. They offer appetizers and desserts. I recommend the met balls. I would say this place is better than the lion king, but not as expensive!

I had the great pleasure of seeing Charlie Poveromo perform last year. Such a talented young man! He is a must-see, up-and-coming star! I am thrilled that he will be at the Metropolitan Room today at 4:00! The lighting and acoustics are wonderful at this sophisticated space. It will be the perfect venue for him to shine. I can't wait to see the show!!!
Very swank! I would say this is a must hit spot in NYC for lovers of jazz and other amazing live performances. The atmosphere is personal. All around a wonderful spot with great employees who seem to genuinely love what they do. I am from the south and the people here remind me of southern comfort. (rare here in the city)
There were 10 of us to see Marilyn Maye for a birthday celebration. Price was great, service was fantastic and the venue is perfect for cabaret. The management went out of their way to make the birthday celebration really special with cake, crowns, beads and asked Marilyn to sing happy birthday. A very special, wonderful evening.
The Metropolitan Room is got to be one of New York’s finest gems. It has a lovely, intimate ambiance, a warm, gracious staff, and a heaping portion of quality entertainment. If you enjoy real cabaret, where the audience really listens and the performers really shine… this is THE place. I brought a bunch of my friends to “Bernie’s Sing Your Heart Out” talent showcase and we got to see and hear some truly amazing up and coming stars. This place is a New York treasure.
I have performed in many a cabaret space, and this one is superior. A warm, comfortable and upscale atmosphere, in an easily-accessible location (with parking across the street!) with top notch acts. An evening out that will make you come back for more!
I have been going to the Legendary Metropolitan Room since summer of 2011 and I must say it is a beautiful Place. Decor is excellent. The staff is professional and approachable. They are very organized and fast. I was very surprised the service was amazing. Just a wonderful environment to be in. What topped the evening...the entertainment was amazing. the sound was just right and the theme for the night fit. I have since recommended everyone I know to check this place out. in town / out of towners Where else are you gonna get such a beautiful space and amazing talent and service. 5 stars out of 5
This is my favorite small venue in New York City. As with anything wonderful, what makes it so it all about People. All aspects of the room - from lights/sound, to top shelf bar-tending, the best waitstaff; to the programming of stellar artists - are well attended by first rate humans. Keeps me coming back... While having a firm foot planted in the Cabaret community, you can also find some of the best jazz, folk, blues, and world musics here. The Metropolitan Room is classy enough for a special night out, yet comfortable enough for regular visits. I recommend it very highly! Sean Harkness
