Great place for unique take on Russian restaurant food. Great Vodka Bar. The infused vodka at this joint is truly amazing, try the chocolate infused. We took part in a 30 infused vodka tasting for 2 hours. We ordered the Russian version of sushi(lox, cream cheese and caviar in a crepe, cut into sushi pieces), a few different salads, chicken Kiev, stew, some dumplings and beef stroganoff. Everything was fresh and well prepared(my girlfriend is Russian so she knew). Decor and theme was definitely interesting. In a way my girlfriend said it felt nostalgic of Soviet time. I don't know what that means but she liked it. They gave me some army jackets, a hat and a fake AK47 to pose for pictures with. Definitely a great time and I would recommend. Happy dining.

Great Place. The decor is very old soviet era. Staff was very friendly and always around. Food was excellent. They have a very large selection of home flavored vodka.

Great place to experience Russian cuisine in a mix of modern New York and traditional Russia ambience. Chicken version of signature Russian dish stroganoff is absolutely on point here. Buckwheat is prepared to perfection and chicken was softened nicely with sauce that comes with it. Staff here is absolutely great! Besides them being pleasant, they know a lot about every dish on the menu and can give you a full background of it. This is a Russian place, so you'll find a lot if different vodkas. They claim they have every brand of vodka originating from former USSR and Finland. Aside from that, they make their own types of infused vodkas and they taste great.

This is a pretty good novelty place. Soviet-themed vodka bar with over 100 home-made flavors. The pickle and jalapeno vodkas are pretty good. The food is good, but this place is niche. Worth a trip every once in a while.

July 2014: Went to the place for dinner and had a horrible evening. The waiter was nice, but that was the only thing positive. All food was apparently out of a box or microwaved, the meat was totally overcooked and hard, 2 of our orders were mixed up. And the music was the worst - much too loud to have any kind of conversation, and songs all were techno remixes of European 70s pop - Abba or Modern Talking anyone? That explained why the place was all empty, except for another unlucky tourist couple..

The decor is over the top but fun, and the staff was decent but a little awkward. The salads we started with were fantastic, but the pirogi and the chicken kiev were both very dry and rather bland. We aren't the most familiar with Russian food so that may have been the correct preparation, but it wasn't for us.
