Wow!!!What an incredible experience, Kyoto tasting menu at its best, with a little insert of a few pieces of sushi served by his majesty Ichimura San, I mean what can you ask more for. The chef is really creative and the sommelier very helpful and knowledgeable from wine to sake and Japanese whisky. I mean if you like seasonal tasting menu you can hardly find anything better...very expensive but worth every penny!

The sushi box is decent. Fish can be fresher. A bit pricey for the portion.

Odo is an oasis hidden in Flatiron. It's a gem that is waiting to be discovered. I am in awe of the magic that happens here. It's an special occasion place and you won't regret the amount you pay. Tasting menu is 200 pre tax and gratuity. Remember quality does come at a price. After this experience, you will understand. You enter through the cocktail bar which is usually bustling and through a set of doors you enter serenity. It's peaceful in the midst of a very busy city. The next couple steps are into a very comfortable but chic chair and a beautiful kitchen that most would be envious of. The colors are neutral which gives the color of the food to pop and shine. The minute you sit will be the start of a heartwarming journey of new food memories being created. The journey starts with cold sake that is served in a bamboo cup. The sake is distilled in Brooklyn. It's crisp and quite refreshing. The menu is 9 courses and there are surprises along the way. You will be delighted and satisfied. Each dish is pleasantly complex. They are executed so well. The chef will be there to explain each course. They let the ingredients speak for themselves and they serve as a guide through the experience. To describe each item would result in a short novel. If interested, feel free to message me. Some notes are the fried items are crisp and adds to the texture of the bite. The fish is fresh enough to taste the sea. The pickles are crunchy and just have the right amount of tang. The broths warm you from the inside out. I would summarize that each component of each dish plays a vital partner in the food dance. I can sing the praises of Odo but I don't feel like I would do it justice. It would be like me trying to explain color to the blind. You just have to experience it yourself to understand the joy and love the chefs have for the ingredients. They want to share that and you can taste it. Savor it.

Decent kaiseki for the price. Sushi was good and we didn’t feel overly stuffed at the end. The last few dishes you can choose 1, 2, or all 3 to fill up if you’re still hungry.

Creative kaiseki served at a chef's counter in the back of a bar. The restaurant sits 12, and everyone gets to observe the cooking. The chefs and the servers are friendly and welcome engagement from the patrons. The kaiseki menu is filling and good value for the price. When I visited I sat next to a big name NYC sushi chef and his chef friend, and both praised many of the courses. Great place for a date, but not very intimate, as the people sitting around you can hear your conversation.
