This was an amazing experience! I live right by this place and ever since they opened up, I wanted to try here. Staff was very professional, attentive, and friendly. I had sushi and sashimi regular omakase and everything was outstanding. Each piece was fresh and well balanced, and by sitting at the bar, you get to hear what each dish is from the owner/chef. Their hamachi kama and special dessert green tea tiramisu is also a must try. So happy to have this place so close by home. Will definitely come back again soon. I am sure they will get much busier in no time.

First rate sushi at good prices. Sushi Ryusei is a 9-month old sushi place on 39th street close to one of the exit roads from the midtown tunnel. It was a bit hard to find by car but once there the decor is modern and tranquil. The sushi deluxe was 39 and came with 9 pieces and a fatty tuna roll. That’s a great price for the quality and quantity of sushi included. The 10 piece omakase was well-priced at 85 and every piece was good. The uni was from Sapporo and sweet without that bitterness found in domestically-sources uni. The fatty tuna had fantastic flavor but was a bit stringy. Other standouts were the shrimp — which only the best sushi places serve raw, and the barracuda which was extremely fresh and mild. The service was friendly and amazingly we got a table for 4 at the last minute on a Friday. That won’t be possible once word gets out about this bargain-priced sushi joint.
