Just to get the facts right, no it's not \the largest\ but one of the largest churches in the world. And yes if they ever managed to finish it as planned, it might hold that title. Its not that old or magnificent either. There are hundreds of dazzling cathedrals in Europe that are centuries older than this and design, architecture, craftsmanship aside, their celiengs alone are a work of art but by US standards, its definitely all that so I have to give the credit where its due. Besides it's not something you expect in a tourist centric city like New York. Its bit refreshing to see something other than steel and glass.

A very sobering experience. I loved visiting here right here in NYC. A lovely place to see. Its built beautifully and im glad we came.
It was beautiful! Very nice place to visit and take amazing photos of. Staff was attentive and friendly. The entrance fee was only 5.00, due to COVID. It was a beautiful place to see. Definitely a must see.
One of the guards was very unfriendly. He was very nervous when we took the parking spot, which turns out to be only for employees. My husband had to drive around searching for parking. He never found it and I had to go alone. The guard frequently made comments on where to go and where not. This greatly spoiled the impression of the visit. It's very beautiful place, but I wish I hadn't gone there.
The Cathedral of St. John the Divine is the world's fourth largest cathedral, the world's largest Christian Church, also is the world's most beautiful church. It close central park. This stone building start 1892, Coverd 121,000 square feet and 600 feet long, 177 feet high. Large as two American football fields. When you go in, will be shocked by its wide. I have never see such a large church。 It should be one important view in NY, worth to see.
