This congregation is the philosophic arm of Judaism. People here think about Judaism in terms of enlightenment values, as opposed to tradition. Jewish rituals observed, but adapted to the way we live in 21st century New York City.

The City Congregation meets our family's need for an institution that helps us celebrate our Jewish identity in a deep and meaningful way, without compromising our humanist values. The City Congregation offers a terrific Kid School and an amazing Bar anc Bat Mitzvah program, as well as moving holiday and shabbat celebrations and interesting adult education. We've been members for 13 years and still love it.
