An oasis of calm in Chelsea.

My experience was miserable. This institution is a clubhouse. There is no learning taking place and you should only expect to find politics and vain displays of self-righteousness. Many of the seminarians and faculty display reprehensible behavior inside and outside the seminary. GTS was formerly the flagship of the Episcopal Church, it is now the flagship of the crumbling mainline which will cease to exist within a generation or two. Do not go to seminary here. Do not let your Bishop send you here. There are other great faithful seminaries in the North!

This is where my father, The Reverend Canon James Elliott Lindsley, graduated from in 1955.
Such a beautiful block in Chelsea - the trees, the calm. Check it out. And if you can get in - all the better.
the most interesting place ive ever lived. If you can get inside the gate, the close is the best spot in Chelsea. Very calming and friendly. I lived in the building on 10th ave that has been turned into a hotel. I cant speak for what having a hotel on campus has done for the seminary but if its anything like it was its the place to be. Also worked the front desk and mailroom here. Its just a fun community to be a part of.
