This store and Peggy the owner are gems! I’ve been walking this block for a while now and somehow only noticed it a few years ago. I went in and purchased some gorgeous silver jewelry as a gift and ended up talking with Peggy for quite a while. I can’t wait for them to have an online presence so I can support them even during these difficult times.

Got my engagement rings here years ago. I didn't want a stamped mass production to represent something special and ended up with two lovely hand made Elizabethan knots and a fantastic story from that day, including warm memories of the awesome artist who runs this funky East Village institution.
I have been shopping here for years. Amazing one off pieces from local artists. Definitely a gem. Wide range of prices but really it’s about the unique interesting jewelry. Glad to see The Shape of Lies is still open and doing their thing!
It is hard to put together a sentence that truly honors this spot. Over the years that I have visited this store the main thing I have experienced nothing but true passion and dedication. This store will always hold a special place in my heart and I will be back when I am in the city!!!

I went here last year and I bought a gorgeous star necklace with my the lady is amazing passionate and has a true eye for art it was amazing experience and a great place to buy unique and beautiful statement pieces
