I had needed to revise my resume, since I was laid off in May of 2020. I was with my company for 16 years. I had not needed to even look at my resume for 17 years. Most of the format and information was outdated. The job market is tough during a pandemic (to say the least). It is a smart investment to go with a professional resume writing company. Top Resume offered me a free critique of my resume. It got me thinking. So much goes into getting your resume seen by the right hiring managers, recruiters and companies - many things I wasn't aware of - like the wording and technology behind the searches. I was matched with a writer that took the time to understand my career, where I want to go and what I want to do - as well as my timeline, urgency and mindset. Now, I have the documents to fuel my confidence in attaining my next job. I'm on a rewarding path to my next career.

I appreciated the free review of my resume. I thought the recommendations they provided were good. I appreciated (but a little disturbed) about how automated systems review resumes for potential employers. It got to me to thinking .... perhaps TopResume may be employing the same 'robot' technologies to market their services. No real way to tell for sure. In anycase ... I'm going to hold off for now from subscribing to their service even though is appears to be very affordable. But, thanks to TopResume, I will proceed carefully putting their advice to practice when and where I am able.

I had the same experience as a few other reviewers on Google. My resume came back with untruths (lies) about my experience that were fabricated by the writer. There were typos and grammatical mistakes, including endless run on sentences and just plain incorrect English. I complained to customer service and was assigned another writer, twice, meaning in all I went through three writers and had the same experience with all of them. In addition, each one looked like it had just been through a software system, like the writer was a bot, because there was industry-specific language that was “corrected” in the same way each time, even though I kept telling the writers that it was correct as is. I also gave feedback to each writer telling them about the grammatical errors, the parts of the resume that weren’t true, etc. and none of them incorporated my feedback or really listened to anything I had to say or answered any of my questions. I asked multiple times for a refund and was always told no, and that their website states a no refund policy. However, I disputed the charge with my credit card and the next day I received an email saying I was fully refunded. All in all, I wasted two months on this useless service and still don’t have anything I would be able to use to apply for a job. I’m rewriting it myself instead, even though I had wanted to pay a professional to do it. The writers at TopResume are not professionals, and are possibly not even real people.

She truly cared about understanding my needs, which were slightly difficult since I am going through a career change. She provided me with THREE different resumes and cover letters, which a very quick turn around time. She also. had a very quick response time through the messaging system. I would recommend this service to everyone getting back out into the job search arena!

The writer I was working with was very quick in responding to my questions and making the necessary changes as I requested. I've had my updated resume for about two weeks now, but still not seeing any positive results from jobs I am applying for. I'm hoping that it will only be a matter of time before I receive some responses. Only 1 minor issue with the resume. My college information was incorrect which I had to update after the fact.
