Excellent! Food was delicious :-) I ordered the vegetarian plate for take out with mushroom gravy, and loved it! The food was prepared quickly. The mushroom gravy was so delicious, I wish I had it to put on all my food. I see why Veselka continues to be such a staple and so popular with the East Village for so many years. I will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

The soups here are fantastic. The matzah ball soup and the borscht (beet soup) were both great. The borscht was extra delicious with sour cream added. The veggie burger was good not great, but you gotta realize the soups are the main attraction here. We got quart sized soups which are huge! WARNING: I ordered the vegetarian borscht and there were pieces of chicken in it ️

Food tastes great, healthy meal. The restaurant really took steps with social distancing; especially, for indoor dining. They had a plastic barrier in between tables that are already distanced. Menu prices very reasonable, I’d say on average 1 people would spend about 30-40 there with entreedrink or appetizer and tax & gratuity.

They have outdoor seating and some of their seating options have a heater which would probably help in winter, while there is a line for the heated seating options if you don't mind the cold you can seat immediately at the other tables (no heating). We got the fried pierogi and warm apple cider on a cold day. The apple cider certainly helped and while everything was tasty it was a bit pricey for the amount of food that we got.

I enjoyed the outdoor dining area. The east village location is fantastic. I have the borscht and a combo meal . Nice comfort food. No complaints. I have been coming here for years. Delicious.
